Early Childhood Education is a highly sought-after profession across Nova Scotia and throughout Canada. With the increasing need for safe, high-quality childcare, provinces are investing in innovative programs and initiatives to attract and retain talented ECE professionals.
Whether you’re a newcomer to Canada, an adult learner seeking a career change, or a recent high school graduate eager to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives, Early Childhood Education offers a rewarding path for those who want to help shape the next generation.
Introducing our flexible 55-week Hybrid Early Childhood Education Diploma
At Oxford International Career Colleges, we’re making Early Childhood Education more accessible than ever. Beyond our traditional 50-week, in-person diploma, our new 55-week online/hybrid evening program is thoughtfully designed to fit your busy schedule.
Our program blends live, instructor-led classes with practical, hands-on experience. It’s ideal for students with daytime commitments or those looking to upskill while working or managing other responsibilities. By streamlining the program from 60 to 55 weeks, you can finish your training faster and start your career sooner.
The program structure includes 30% academic; the remaining 70% includes guest speakers, field trips, certification training, and practicum placements that students can do locally where they live.
Domestic and PR students can complete the academic portion 100% online from anywhere in Nova Scotia and work placements can be completed locally within your community.
Class Schedule
- Mondays: Asynchronous learning (study at your own pace)
- Tuesdays to Fridays: Live online classes from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm AST (Domestic students)
International students follow the same schedule and attend lectures on campus. This approach allows all students to build connections and engage in a supportive community both online and in person, fostering collaboration and shared learning.
Upon graduation, students will achieve Level II ECE classification. With a strong career outlook, new graduates can expect to earn starting wages of $27.07 per hour, according to Childcare Nova Scotia.
Whether you’re launching your career or advancing to the next level, our Early Childhood Education program provides the expertise and confidence to thrive in this rewarding field.
Ready to take the next step? Enroll in our hybrid ECE program today and start your journey toward a meaningful and rewarding career.

Continuing Care Assistants (CCAs) are vital members of the healthcare team. They provide hands-on support with daily living, comfort, and emotional care, helping ensure safety, dignity, and quality of life for patients in long-term and community settings. Without their daily presence and compassionate care, healthcare systems would struggle to meet the needs of aging and vulnerable populations.
